Israeli Armor Saving Lives on Ukraine’s Front Lines

A new report from Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense highlights how Israeli-developed technology is playing a critical role in protecting Ukrainian soldiers on the battlefield.

The MaxxPro armored vehicles, used by Ukraine’s Special Operations Forces, are the result of a joint U.S.-Israeli effort. While production takes place in the United States, the armor and defense systems were developed in Israel by the company Plasan, based in Kibbutz Sasa in the Upper Galilee. Plasan brings decades of experience in battlefield-tested armor solutions. The vehicles were originally designed for the U.S. military, primarily for the U.S. Marine Corps, and are built to withstand mines and IEDs.

Plasan Sasa is a leading Israeli manufacturer of vehicle armor systems and has been operating since 1985. The company specializes in multi-layered armor, mine protection, and custom defense modules for a variety of military vehicles. Its clients include the Israeli Ministry of Defense, the U.S. Department of Defense, and the militaries of France, the UK, and numerous other countries.

According to Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense website, in an article titled “American-Israeli Armor in Ukrainian Battle: MaxxPro in Special Forces Service,” the vehicles have become a lifesaving asset on the front lines.

Ukrainian Chief Rabbi Moshe Reuven Asman, who has been actively supporting soldiers and civilians, shared testimonies from the front:

“Ukrainian soldiers say that the Israeli-armored models are the ones that withstand artillery, mines, and drone attacks. They’ve saved dozens of lives during movements and evacuations.”

The MaxxPro is equipped with heavy-duty armor, modern communication systems, and can carry up to seven soldiers. It’s just one example of how Israeli defense innovation is contributing to Ukraine’s survival under fire.

Rabbi Asman added:

“This is just a small part of the Israeli technologies helping to protect Ukraine today. Thanks to all the international partners—together, good will prevail.”
