The Israeli Ministry of Health delivered medical equipment overnight, including trauma treatment supplies and life-saving medications, to the hospital in Sweida, Syria. This move follows reports of severe damage to the hospital and was intended to provide aid to the wounded there.

The medical supplies and medications were transferred to the hospital by security forces and the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) last night. The Ministry of Health plans to send additional medical equipment and medications in future deliveries.

Over the weekend, the Director-General of the Ministry of Health met with Dolan Abu Salah, head of the Majdal Shams local council, and doctors from the region, together with Professor Salman Zarka, Director of Ziv Medical Center, to evaluate the delivery of aid, medical equipment, and medications to the hospital in Sweida. The visit included a meeting with Druze doctors who described the situation on the ground in Sweida.

Moshe Bar Siman Tov, Director-General of the Ministry of Health, stated:
“In light of the State of Israel’s commitment to our Druze brothers, as demonstrated again this past week in response to the events in southern Syria, the Ministry of Health has mobilized to deliver medical equipment and medications in order to provide better assistance to the wounded and the sick. The decision to take part in this mission is yet another expression of the values that guide our healthcare system and of the long-standing bond with our Druze brothers.”
