A pro-Gaza demonstration in Brussels escalated into violence when a stabbing occurred between two Palestinians from Gaza, according to reports shared by activists.
Ahmed Salah, a Gazan activist, revealed the details on social media:
“This evening, a stabbing incident occurred during the daily demonstration, between a pro-Hamas Gazan and another Gazan. Of course, we know very well who the Hamas supporters in Brussels are, and this reflects the real danger I have pointed to before. This is why I chose the path of legal action instead of being drawn into a direct clash.”
The altercation took place during a protest that was part of ongoing demonstrations in support of Gaza. While authorities have not yet provided an official statement or confirmed arrests, the attack underscores internal divisions among Palestinians in Europe, particularly regarding support for Hamas.
Gazan-American activist Khalil Sayegh also reacted strongly on Twitter (X), warning about the broader implications:
“A pro-Hamas Palestinian stabbed a Hamas critic during a pro-Palestine protest in Brussels. Pro-Hamas individuals in Europe now pose a serious security threat and should be treated accordingly.”
The stabbing incident has sparked debate about security risks associated with radical elements at demonstrations across Europe, especially as tensions over the Gaza conflict spill into Palestinian diaspora communities.
